Hope you love it! #BedtimeStories Tortoise once lived in this kingdom and was known to be very greedy and lazy. Tortoise refused to work hard and have enough food for himself and his family. He would sleep and eat every day, and when there's no food again, he would go from house to house looking for where he can get free food. Initially, the animals would help him. But soon, every animal knew that Tortoise was greedy because he wanted to fill his store with food by collecting food from all the other animals. So they all stopped giving Tortoise food to eat.
One day, Tortoise went from house to house to get food for himself and his family but no animal gave him food. He first went to Pig and said to him, “Pig, please, my family and I are dying of hunger. Help us so that we can be strong and healthy again.” Pig said, “Tortoise, I am sorry I can't help you. You are fond of taking food from each animal to fill your own store and even have more than all of us. I have made up my mind that I will never give a greedy animal anything.” Tortoise then left disappointed. He said to himself, “What can I do since every animal now calls me greedy. Shall I die because of hunger?” As he was thinking, an idea came to him, then he said, “I will go to the animals and tell them that I am only concerned about my family. I do not care if I die because of hunger. Please be merciful to my family.” The next day, Tortoise went to Wolf and said, “Dear friend, how are you? I have come to see you because of my family. My children and wife are very hungry and they are at the point of death. I don't care about myself. Just give me something for my family.” Wolf said, “Tortoise, I know you well. You are not concerned about your family but your belly. I won't give you any food. You may leave when you are set.” Then Tortoise said to himself, “If I must steal to get food today, then I will steal.” As he was going, he decided to go to Deer to beg him for food. Then he noticed that Deer was cooking a delicious pot of yam. Tortoise begged Deer but he refused. So as Deer stepped out, Tortoise quickly packed many pieces of yam from the pot into his cap and rushed out. When Deer came back, he bade Tortoise goodbye and Tortoise bade him bye too. Tortoise ran so fast till he got home. By the time he got home, the hot yam had burnt his scalp. Unable to bear the pain and the burning head, tortoise felt so bad for cheating deer and vowed never to cheat again. After then, tortoise started working for food and whenever it saw the burnt scalp in the mirror, it recollects the cheating done to the deer and immediately moves out of the home and starts working.
